Social Media Posting for Your Business6 min read

Social media platforms are powerful marketing assets. Having billions of users, they are a requirement if you want to have a highly successful business. Facebook and Instagram are the most important because they are endlessly scalable with their massive volume of users. Post whatever you want, whenever you want, from wherever you are, to whoever you want. This power will give you the luxury of free, flexible marketing on a grand scale. Update your audience on deals and promotions, changes in the industry, photos of your team and business, and engage with your followers. These things build a relationship with your followers and establish brand credibility.

Having a place where you can post whatever you want, at whatever time, from wherever you are, gives you the advantage of updating an audience (for free) on things like company updates, any promotions you have going on, changes in the commercial cleaning industry, engagement with followers, photos of your team and business, and any other thing that will help your business build a relationship with your audience and future customers.

Social Media Basics

Posting on social media can be difficult. First, you have to figure out what to post. Then, how to get it to be the highest quality feasible. Next, find the right time to post. Finally, you’re ready to post. This can be a time-consuming process if you want to get the most out of posts. Here at Commercial Cleaning Education, we had the same problem. We have found a few tools and tricks over the years to make life a little easier for us.

Visual Images

We have found that visual images should be used whenever possible. They grab the social media user’s attention and draw them into your content more effectively. Psychologically, a graphic, video, or image has more weight on a person’s mind than a plain line of text. This gives them something to look at and visualize, ultimately being more memorable.

To give the best user experience, combine your post’s message with a high quality visual creative. Not only will your readers appreciate this, but so do Facebook and Instagram. As a result, they will reward you by placing your post higher on the user’s feed. Ultimately, increasing your chances of exposure and engagement.

Social Media Algorithms

What is it?

Facebook and Instagram use algorithms. These determine the placement of posts engineered specifically for each user’s news feed. This is what makes your social media different from your friend’s, even if you follow the same people.

There are three main components of the algorithm.

  1. The type of content and pages the user typically interacts with
  2. Form of media being displayed (video, image, text, link, etc.)
  3. Popularity of page (likes, comments, shares, engagements)

Fit the Algorithm

Let’s be clear on one thing: fighting the algorithm never works. Facebook and Instagram make the rules, and expect you to follow them. They control everything, so trying to do things the wrong way will hurt your success.

Keeping this in mind, there are some tricks that get the algorithm to work to your advantage. First off, aim to get lots of engagement on your posts. To do this, ask questions or make statements that will spark conversation in the comments. This raises the overall post engagement. As a result of playing into the algorithm (popularity of page), your post will rank higher.

When to Post

Next, post at peak usage hours. For a personal social media page, this might be in the evening. This is because many people browse social media at night before bed. As a commercial cleaning business, you will want to post during traditional work hours. Early or late morning are good times to target. Early morning posts target the people who check social media in the morning before work. Late morning focuses more on the lunch crowd. We recommend experimenting with different times to find what works best for your business.

Post Often, Post Consistently

Establish regularity with your social media posts. Social media sites like to see posts are published around the same time of day each time you post. In addition, post multiple times a week. To Facebook and Instagram, this shows your business has a lot of value to give. As a result, they will rank you higher and show more people your post.

Stay Organized

Following the rules of posting high-quality content and regularly throughout the week requires good planning and execution. This can be a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry. There are many helpful tools out there that do most of the heavy lifting for you.

Most people think of social media one post at a time. This is a more time-consuming way of handling social media. Instead, set some time aside to come up with posts in advance. Create content for each day you want to post, and have them ready to go. In an hour or two, you could have postable content for the next few weeks or even months.

We like this process because we are able to dedicate time to social media, and then it is not at the front of our minds for a while. Also, this lowers the possibility of skipping a post, making your social media page more reliable.

Canva is a great tool for creating high quality, visually pleasing creative content. It makes creating posts as easy as possible with over 50,000 templates. All you have to do is select one, input text, and adjust colors. In seconds you can have a professional-looking visual ready to post.

Posting Softwares

Once you have your post created, find software to schedule your posts. Posting software makes everything systemized and automatic. All you have to do is decide when and what to post and it handles it for you. Not only is this great for busy people, but for anyone looking to make their social media posting more regular.

Buffer is a posting software that we recommend, as they have a free plan. This free plan does limit the number of posts you can schedule. If you don’t plan on posting more than 10 times a month, this will be perfect for you. If you plan on posting more frequently, there are other plans available ranging from $15 a month up to $99 a month.

Social media can play a huge role in any business, so take advantage of the opportunities it has to offer! If you are looking to build a larger and more engaged audience on your social media, consider following the tips and guidelines laid out in this post. Make your life and job easier by taking the guesswork out of social media.

Instead of taking the time to remember, create, and post each week, try a more effective approach. Dedicate time to creating and scheduling social media posts all at once. In a few hours, you can have a month worth of posts created and scheduled. Now you don’t have to worry about it until next month! Remember, always strive to deliver quality content and you will be surprised by how quickly you can grow a social media page!
